7. Harpers Mansion & Maze

On a hill overlooking the historic village of Berrima, is Harper’s Mansion, a fine Georgian homestead built in 1834 by James Harper (assistant to the Surveyor General Thomas Mitchell). The mansion is set in two acres of strolling gardens of cool climate heritage plants & features one of the largest hedge mazes in Australia. The maze is now over 3 metres tall. The total length of the path is 350 metres but, if you can find the quickest way out, it’s only 185 metres.

Harper’s Mansion, furnished in period style, is listed on the NSW Government Heritage Register as a property of State heritage significance. The Mansion is owned by the National Trust and managed by volunteers on behalf of the Trust.  Harper’s Mansion, Garden and Maze are available to hire for weddings, events, filming and photography
