Fitzroy Iron Works offers visitors the chance to see an iconic piece of Australian history as it was the first iron works in Australia.
Opening in 1848, the remains have been conserved, maintained and displayed with permanent public access provided. The remains are located in the underground car park of Highlands Marketplace at Mittagong, and the site of the Iron Mine is located over the Bridge at Mittagong “Iron Mines Oval”.
